Targeting the Engaged Audience on Facebook
The engaged 💍 audience on Facebook is a segment that MANY businesses can share smart, strategic messaging with and create longterm customers. Obviously this audience is great for wedding dress boutiques, tux rental stores, fine jewelry shops, event spaces, photographers and so on.
That being said — this target audience is NOT just for bridal industries. Let me tell you why…
I share 10 strategies for 10 different industries to market to the engaged.
(And the end of this blog post I’ll actually share a video on how to set up this type of ad in Facebook Ads Manager too)
So let’s throw some ideas around:
1. Realtor
Imagine this – you, as the realtor, partner with bridal businesses in your region of service. You put out an ad linking to a landing page to sign up for the Ultimate Bride Guide for (Insert Region/Area/City). This guide is packed with goodies a bride-to-be can use (that’s where you partner with area bridal businesses to pitch in and be featured in your guide). Hit up your area salons, dress boutiques, fine jewelry shop, event venues, tux rentals, catering, etc., and ask them to share a special offer that a bride-to-be can redeem (incentive: it’s trackable for them too)! Win-Win.
Now you might be thinking — hey, how does this benefit me? Well, if and when, that new couple needs a house, or moves — they’ve already had that first positive experience, and received a great deal of value from you. Create the relationship, cultivate it and you’ll be top of mind when they need you.
2. Retail Boutique
I saw a boutique offering a special styling service specifically to brides and their bridal party and thought What a Smart Idea?! A quick Google search told me the median number of bridesmaids in American weddings is 4.32. So if that’s true this boutique could be dressing 5 women for an engagement party, bridal showers, bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinners, etc.
Does your target market’s age skew higher? Same concept: Dress moms-of-the-brides and mother in laws for the same events. Promote this as a Styling Service you offer and put a value to it (even if you offer it free) it makes it worth something.
3. Restaurant
Celebrate that newly engaged couple. Target them with a free dessert or two drink gift card and get them in! Make it special and exciting. And you know if they are coming in they are likely to order food, maybe another drink, etc — so that tradeoff makes sense and gives you the opportunity to create an experience they won’t forget. And WILL LIKELY come back for.
4. Local Bank
A new couple may be looking to combine accounts, buy a house, start a business, the list goes on. What can you offer them that big banks can’t? Is it the personalized follow up? Get a customer testimonial talking about their story and link it to a Must-Have Celebration Basket — celebrating their engagement. And when they come pick it up you can include a packet with everything they need to know for their financial future. Better yet – see if you can have a sit down meeting and learn more about the couple, their goals and share how you can help them in the future.
5. Winery or Brewery
Free wine or beer tasting! This will bring them into your space and you can always have a sales process once they are in your venue. + Bonus points if you have an event center! Add a tour of your rentable space as part of the experience when they redeem their special offer.
6. Chiropractor
Planning for a wedding can be quite the adjustment- see where I’m going with this. 😉 throw a special offer to newly engaged + first time patients. Have them sign up for the offer then give them a call or text to get scheduled.
7. Vet or Pet Store
People love their pets and many engaged people want to include their’s in the big day! 🐕 Some even include them in their engagement photos. A few ideas: Offer a special for grooming, tips for engagement photos with your pooch or a guide for including your pup in your big day. And of course in the ad feature some furry freinds.
Another Idea: Many couples might consider getting their first pet together as a next step. You can offer a special quiz about what pet is right for them or first time patient promotion. This sets you up to be the place they want to go if, and when they get a pet.
8. Insurance Agent
Similar to the banking strategy above. New couples usually end up looking into insurance. Make this process simple for them and easy to understand. Get in front of them first by offering a special gift they can pick up from your office. Have them fill out a simple survey to redeem it, and from there set up a quick 5 minute meeting to share how you can help them. Make the special gift a no brainer – so they would feel silly if they didn’t sign up for it.
9. Specialty Gifts, Delicacies or a Bakery
Market yourself as the perfect gift for bridal parties, or create packages specific for these events (bachelorette parties, bridal showers, etc!). And once you do these things it will create a process for you — efficient, eh?
10. Home Store
Many couples might be buying a new house or looking to spruce up a rental or apartment together. There’s a big market for DIY and home renovation, thanks to reality shows and Instagram. A special offer in form of a gift card can get the couple in your door! Whether that’s for flooring, decor or paint. Come up with a service or package that is appealing and will speak to your service as well.
Alrighty! There are quite a few different ways for certain industries that don’t consider themselves in the Bridal Industry to market to the engaged audience. I have it on my list to write up a post specifically for ideas for the Bridal industry as well. Stay tuned for that. 😉
